The Fashion and Design Institute

THE FASHION and Design Institute operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Industrial Development, SMEs and Cooperatives (Industrial Division) and its aim to promote excellence in the field of design education.
Since its inception, the Fashion and Design Institute has trained over 1200 Students and now stands as a reference in the Mauritian tertiary education sector specialising in the field of creativity and design.

The Fashion & Design Institute is currently offering Full Time and Part Time courses ranging from certificate to Degree level as mentioned below:

Department of Jewellery Manufacturing and Design
• National Certificate level 3 in Jewellery Manufacturing and Design
• National Certificate level 4 in Jewellery Design, Manufacturing and Stone setting
• Specialised Courses in:
(i) Stone setting and Micro pavé setting;
(ii) Jewellery design using CAD/CAM “Matrix software and 3d printer”;
(iii) Jewellery designing, illustration & rendering; and (iv) Lost wax casting techniques
